The biggest risk in building isn't the floor plan, the countertop, or the paint color. It's choosing the wrong builder. Here is what to look for, what to ask, and an honest look at whether we're the right fit, even if the answer is no.
Any builder can show you a beautiful photo. These are the things that predict how your build will actually go, and they apply to every builder you interview, including us.
The right builder shows you the real number before you’re emotionally committed, with allowances spelled out line by line. If the price feels vague, the overruns won’t be.
Ask to see finished homes and homes still under construction, not just renderings, and to speak with the clients living in them. An active jobsite tells you more about a builder than a model home does.
Meet the person who will manage your build day to day, not just the person selling it. Ask how many homes they run at once and how often they’ll walk yours.
Great builds aren’t the ones with no surprises. They’re the ones where you hear about them first, from your builder, with a plan. Ask what the update cadence is and hold them to it.
Windows, foundation engineering, framing, mechanicals. The parts you’ll never photograph determine how the home performs for decades. A proud builder will happily talk specifics.
Texas doesn’t license home builders, which makes accountability something you have to verify yourself. Look for builders their own industry trusts: association leadership, third-party inspections, named warranties, and a reputation among trades.
Bring these to every interview. A good builder will welcome them. Hesitation, vagueness, or irritation is an answer too.
People choose builders differently, and that's how it should be. Whatever you lead with, here is what you'll find when you hold us to it.
You’ll get line-item transparency, real allowances, and a CEO who built her career in real estate analysis. Ask us the hard budget questions first. That’s our favorite way to start.
A 2024 GHBA President on our leadership team, NAHB national honors, 300+ homes built by our team, and a planbook refined across 35 designs. Decide on evidence, not adjectives.
You’ll know the names of the people building your home, and they’ll know yours. We are in the relationship business; the houses are how we prove it.
The dream matters here. Our in-house designer and design-build studio exist to take the picture in your head and make it buildable, beautiful, and yours.
And we'd rather tell you that now than let you discover it mid-build. If the lowest price per square foot is the deciding factor, a volume builder will serve you better, and we'll say so. If you want a hands-off build with no decisions and no conversations, our process will feel like more attention than you want. And if speed matters more than getting the details right, we will frustrate you, because we won't rush your home.
But if you want a team that tells you the real number before you're committed, calls you before you have to call them, and treats your home like it will carry your family's story for generations, then we should talk. Not a sales pitch. A conversation.
